Join the Missouri Drumline!

The Missouri Drumline holds auditions each year. The first round of 2010 auditions takes place Saturday, May 1, and the audition process concludes with a full weekend rehearsal camp during the summer months. During the entire week before classwork begins, Marching Mizzou holds its annual band camp, concluding with the Concert on the Quad.

Incoming and current Mizzou students are invited to audition. Veteran members must re-audition for placement every year.

2010 Audition Music

Mark time to all exercises, and always practice with a metronome. Suggested tempi are listed with each exercise.

Update: all exercises uploaded, bass drum parts (including separate 8s split) now attached.

• Eights/Fours

Eight on a hand: all tempos
Fours: 100 bpm [do not mark time]

• Eights Bass Split

For the split, be able to play:

• Singles (on right hand)
• Twos, threes, and fours (lead right hand)

• Accent/Tap

Up to 144 bpm

• Swingin' PDDs

Up to 100 bpm

• Timing

All tempos

• P.R.E.D.A.T.O.R.

Up to 126 bpm. This exercise will be played through four times in succession, as follows:

1. Check pattern only: play accents and inner beats as written
2. Buzz rolls: play accents and inner beats as buzz rolls
3. Tap buzzes: play inner beats as buzz rolls
4. Tap diddles: play inner beats as diddles
